Is today a more productive day? I certainly feel like I’ve done a lot more compared to yesterday, so I’ll say today is a good day.
Here’s what I did today:
- Video called my soul-sister, Steph ❤️
- Filed our taxes for 2019
- Balanced our finances for the week
- Paid off the last dregs of my debt (basically the 2nd last installments for past purchases, and there’s only $60 left on the installments)
- Wrote my post for Day 12 (and started working through some of my inner child wounds)
- Wrote this post (yay?)
- Filmed and edited 3 videos for Alex!
- Practiced driving down Portage for a longer period of time
- Finished 3 out of 15 videos
How does this relate to my goals?
Still not as many videos done for this as I had to go back a few videos to figure out what was causing a bug in my game.
Selecting the wrong game object and the wrong event basically meant my banana projectile wasn’t showing up.
Sometimes it’s quite frustrating to not know exactly what is causing the issue, but I like that there’s a defined reason for why it isn’t working. You just have to search for it.
As of today, I have 112 videos and 17 days left to complete this course. That’s about 6.588235294 videos a day, which I think I can more than hit. But we’ll see. I have a tendency of biting off more than I can chew so far.
Today’s tasks also included planning out the next features to implement in the game. They were mostly things we have already covered in the course, so it’ll be a challenge to see if I can put to work what I’ve learnt!
ILLUSTRATING ALEX’S BOOK
This goal is on pause, as per my explanation on Day 2.
I’m also starting to strongly consider the idea of hiring an illustrator, so I will likely shop around for someone to work on illustrating.
There’s something driving me to push forward and make this project happen as fast as I can, and keeping me as an “illustrator” feels like swimming in treacle. I’ll update once I’ve started shopping, though that’s a simple enough task I suppose.
FIRST INVESTMENT AKA BUILDING MY FINANCIAL INTELLIGENCE
Progress! There has been progress!
I think. Filing your taxes is part of maintaining one’s finances, right? I used a software to help with filing it, but considering it’s my first time with complex questions and forms etc, I think I did well.
I also balanced our finances to ensure we know where every dollar is, which is fantastic because I can see the age of our money is now 6 days. If we can get it to 30 days, that means we’re living on last month’s income and not paycheck-to-paycheck.
I also paid off more of the debt that I have, so I only have $60 as an outstanding balance. I’m upset that there was a $100 interest charge even though I cleared my balance to $0 before the end of last month.
I’ve written in to OCBC and we’ll see what they say. I hope it’s not a case of them trying to gouge me based on my initial balance on April 1st.
In any case, thank you for reading thus far!
It’s been a good day. Next week will be even better.
This post (Day 13) is part of a one-month challenge I’m working on.
